Joan McGibben Interior Design

Designed and built by architect Frank Wynkoop in the early 1950’s, this historic house was sited and constructed on the rocky shore between Carmel and Carmel River Beach.

Butterfly House-Carmel Landmark

The house has been restored and up-dated to a contemporary landmark with the help of the architects sons (who are also architects.)  State of the art finish materials, sound and lighting systems contribute to this unique home that integrates so well with the natural environment.

An opportunity for Joan McGibben to complete the interior design with permanent staging (the home is available for purchase) and resourcing of appropriate art by talented local Artists/Photographers: Michael Miller of Rocky Creek, Stefani Esta - sculptor, Weston Gallery photographs, Robin Ward photographs, Hawthorne Gallery - Greg Hawthorne.  The goal was to minimally furnish this extraordinary house with high end custom designed pieces with an international appeal, while relating to the spectacular panorama from Pebble Beach to Point Lobos on the Pacific Ocean in Carmel, California.
